ASHI Instructor Development Course $695
Whether you’re an entrepreneur looking to start your own emergency care training business or the newly designated training coordinator at your company or agency, the ASHI and MEDIC First Aid Instructor Development Course (IDC) is an effective way to do both. Using a blended training approach, the IDC combines an initial online learning session to develop cognitive understanding, followed by a single-day, in-person classroom session for practicing instructional skills.
Individuals without prior instructor training wishing to become an ASHI and/or MEDIC First Aid authorized instructor.Prerequisites
Individuals at least 17 years old who hold current provider certification and/or demonstrated competency in layperson adult, child, and infant CPR, AED, and first aid.Successful Completion
Successful completion of the IDC by itself does not authorize an instructor candidate to conduct ASHI or MEDIC First Aid training courses and issue certification cards. Candidates who have successfully completed the IDC must affiliate with an approved Training Center which will submit an application for instructor authorization. Instructor candidates can also establish their own Training Center.
American Red Cross Instructor Course
If you're in the business of training individuals or workplaces or recreational and pool facilities, the Red Cross has the best training resources and materials to help save lives and grow your business. Licensed Training Providers (LTPs) with the American Red Cross deliver First Aid/CPR/AED, Aquatics, Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) training.
American Heart Association Instructor Course
The American Heart Association is always seeking professionals to conduct training in first aid, CPR, AED, and advanced cardiovascular care. If you are passionate about saving lives, motivated to facilitate learning, feel comfortable in group settings, and find it easy to make complex concepts understandable to others, you may be a perfect candidate.
Individuals without prior instructor training wishing to deliver American Heart Association authorized courses.
Must be at least 18 years old to complete the following:
- After being accepted by an authorized AHA TC, complete an Instructor Candidate Application for the TC before enrolling in an AHA Instructor Course.
- Have current AHA provider status in the discipline for that Instructor Course and be proficient in all the skills of that discipline. Disciplines include BLS and Heartsaver.
- Successfully complete the Instructor Essentials Course for the discipline for which you are becoming an Instructor, including both the online portion and the classroom/hands-on session.
- Successfully be monitored teaching within 6 months of completing the hands-on session of their Instructor Essentials Course (TC Coordinators may require additional monitoring, if needed)
